Growing Minds Program
Building mental health awareness, emotional skills, and confidence from an early age.
I believe conversations about mental health shouldn't begin only when a child is already struggling. Growing Minds was created to bring age-appropriate mental health education into elementary classrooms, helping children develop an understanding of their emotions, learn healthy ways to cope, and feel more comfortable asking for help.
Through engaging, interactive, and age-appropriate activities, students are encouraged to understand themselves, build emotional awareness, strengthen their resilience, and recognize that taking care of their mental health is just as important as taking care of their physical health.
What Does Growing Minds Cover?
Workshops can be adapted to the age and needs of each classroom or school and may explore topics such as:
Understanding Emotions
Helping children recognize, name, and understand their feelings while learning that all emotions are okay.
Understanding Mental Health
Introducing children to mental health in a simple, age-appropriate way and helping reduce stigma around talking about how we feel.
Big Feelings & Emotional Regulation
Learning practical strategies for managing strong emotions, calming the body, and coping with challenging moments.
Confidence & Self-Esteem
Encouraging positive self-talk, self-acceptance, confidence, and an appreciation of what makes each child unique.
Friendships & Belonging
Exploring kindness, healthy friendships, boundaries, inclusion, and what it means to feel connected to others.
Coping With Stress & Anxiety
Helping students recognize signs of stress and worry and introducing simple, age-appropriate coping tools.
Asking for Help
Teaching children that asking for help is a strength and helping them identify trusted adults and safe people they can turn to.
Growing Up in a Digital World
For older elementary students, exploring how social media, technology, comparison, and online experiences can affect wellbeing.
Designed for Elementary Students
Growing Minds can be adapted for different developmental stages, from Kindergarten through Grade 8.
Younger students may learn through stories, games, movement, drawing, and interactive activities, while older students can explore topics through discussion, reflection, scenarios, and practical exercises.
Each workshop is designed to be engaging, practical, and appropriate for the age group, with the goal of making mental health conversations feel normal, accessible, and safe.
More Than a Workshop
Growing Minds isn't about diagnosing students or providing therapy in the classroom. It is about mental-health education, prevention, awareness, and skill-building.
The goal is to give students language for what they're experiencing, practical tools they can use, and the confidence to reach out when they need support.
Supporting Mental Health Starts Early
Every child deserves the opportunity to understand their emotions, feel connected, and know that they don't have to navigate difficult moments alone.
